  • Thank you!

    Thank you!

Thank you to everyone who supported the Parish Council’s Village Open Day on Saturday, whether representing a village organisation or simply coming along.

The answer to the question How Many Community Trees does Tysoe have?’ was 104 so very well done all those who even got close, and even more well done to The Rev. George Heighton who won!

£34.50 quiz proceeds on their way to Community Hub/Talk Dementia.

It is always dangerous to single some out for praise at such a village event, but special thanks must go to Village Hall Team for all their help with the organisation, and especially Linda for all those amazing cakes!

If you would like to learn more about the various groups and activities in Tysoe please visit our Join In page, or alternatively you can download a summary of many of the represented groups to read at your leisure here.

  • Parish Council – wildflower management

    Parish Council – wildflower management

Tysoe Parish Council is increasing the number of areas in the village to be managed for a richer variety of wildflowers and wildlife.

Four new areas have been marked out with temporary posts.  For the rest of this season, these will not be mown, to see what plants naturally come up.  In the Autumn, these will then be sown with Yellow Rattle, which suppresses some of the grass and allows more room for other wildflower species to thrive.

    The new areas are:

    • At the entrance to Poolgate – the ditch at the back is already full of a wide variety of species.  This will be extended forward.  The front will still be mown for highways visibility, and a tree and some crocuses will be planted this Autumn.  The Dead Hedge already in the private land behind adds to the habitat types here.
    • Around the Mulberry Tree on the entrance to Old Tree Lane – the posts and wire around the Mulberry Tree are to be removed as the tree is well-established now.  The branches of the tree naturally swoop down to the ground, so the wildflowers will be around the spreading branches.
    • At the corner of Badger’s Lane – violets seem to grow well here already, but what else will?
    • A strip along the back of the Football Field – we ask dog owners to kindly refrain from letting their dogs poo in any of the longer grass around the edges of the football and recreation fields, as children regularly play here.

Along with the existing Wildflower Areas, these will make for a more Wildlife Friendly alternative to taking part in ‘No Mow May’.

For our full ‘Wildlife Friendly Mowing Strategy’, please see here.

  • Tysoe Village Hall 100 Club

    Tysoe Village Hall 100 Club

Tickets are now available for Tysoe Village Hall’s 2026/2027 100 Club

The 100 Club is a monthly lottery that gives you the chance to win cash prizes while directly supporting the Village Hall. It’s an easy and fun way to contribute to a great cause!

Each annual ticket will cost £20 and will be entered into the monthly draw. The fee for each number is to be paid annually in advance and is not refundable. Each number is deemed to have been reserved for one year from the first draw it is entered in and they are not transferable. There is no limit to the number of tickets bought and the more numbers you have, the higher your chance of winning.

Each month, 50% of the total monthly subscriptions, net of any expenses, are distributed as prize money and 50% goes to Tysoe Village Hall, net of any expenses. Winning numbers will be drawn at random from those numbers eligible to enter the draw that month.

Further details can be seen at the Village Hall’s website.
