The 6th June will see Tysoe’s successful annual Windmill Run starting from the Sports Field.
There are a range of options, including:
10K run – a challenging, rewarding route, largely off-road and with views (and climbs) to take your breath away.
5k run – reach the summit of Windmill Hill, take in the marvellous vistas before jogging, bounding or rolling back down again!
5k walk – leave all that lycra-clothed sweatiness behind, and enjoy the scenery. You can even bring your dog — on a lead!

On the 22nd April, the Tysoe Village Hall Film Club will be showing Song Sung Blue. It is a 2025 biographical musical drama directed by Craig Brewer, and was released in theatres on December 25, 2025.
Based on a 2008 documentary, it follows the true story of Milwaukee-based musicians Mike and Claire Sardina (played by Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson), who formed a popular Neil Diamond tribute band named “Lightning & Thunder”.
Doors open at 7:00pm for a 7:30pm screening. Tickets, just £6, can be purchased online HERE or purchased at the door.

The Tysoe Flower Show & Fete committee look forward to welcoming you to another fun-packed show in August. The schedules are now back from the printers and will be distributed over the coming weeks – to be collected from the Post Office, the School and all the usual outlets.
However – if you are eager to sow seeds, make a start on those crafty creations, make that winning wine or paint that special painting – then you might like to get a copy of the schedule early.

On Wednesday 8th April, Tysoe Village Hall Trust is holding their Annual General Meeting, updating the village on the prior year of operation and with election and re-election processes. Doors open 6:45pm for a 7:00pm prompt start.
Hall operations are overseen by the Tysoe Village Hall Trust Management Committee.
This is comprised of unpaid trustees and volunteers, many of whom have served the hall and our village for many years, representing organisations within Tysoe.

On Wednesday 1st April, the speaker is a local man, John Capper. John will be speaking about his career in medicine and specifically the Woodworkers of High Wycombe.
His presentation will include sharing more about his training as a Medical Student and as a Junior Doctor, then as a Consultant facing a totally unique Industrial Disease and its natural history particularly relevant to this area and Banbury in particular.
Visitors are very welcome, both male and female.
The cost is just £6 which includes a glass of wine on arrival at 7.15pm ready for the start at 7.30pm

| Tysoe Wildlife in conjunction with Tysoe & District Record are planning a photographic competition to select 12 photos for a ‘Tysoe Wildlife’ calendar for 2027. The calendar will go on sale at the end of the year, and proceeds will be used to support wildlife in the parish. The theme of the competition is ‘Wild Warwickshire’. Photographs must have been taken in Warwickshire since 2024. Photographers with a range of experience from novice to expert are encouraged to enter. Up to three images may be submitted per person. All photographs must be submitted as a digital image (JPEG or PNG) in landscape orientation, with a 6 x 4 ratio, ideally at a resolution of at least 300 dpi or 1mb in size. Entrants must give their full name and email to the competition organisers. This data will be processed and stored in a secure manner and will only be kept for the duration of the 2026 competition. TO ENTER: email your entries to tysoewildlife@gmail.com. Larger files can be sent via wetransfer – https://wetransfer.com/ The closing date is 30th August 2026. The decision of the judges for the ‘Wild Warwickshire Photographic Competition’ is final. PLEASE NOTE: All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the permission of the subject (where necessary) and do not infringe the copyright of any third party. Entrants must warrant that the photograph they are submitting is their own work and that they own the copyright for it. The photographer gives permission to Tysoe Wildlife and the Tysoe Record to print the photographs in the Calendar and for them to be cropped or adjusted where necessary to assist with the printing. Tysoe Wildlife sends a big “thank you” to everyone who has completed their hedgehog survey so far, the response has been very encouraging.
Our hungry hedgehogs are just starting to come out of hibernation so hopefully there will be lots more sightings.
