Community Choir of Oxhill, Tysoe and Shenington

CCOTS choir - choristors singing

This year the choir has grown in strength and numbers again. The word is getting out there that we are a fun, friendly and quality choir led by an inspirational Musical Director (Anna Harcourt) and accompanied by very skilled pianists.

We hold all our rehearsals in Oxhill Village Hall on Wednesday evenings, and are filling the hall rather well now.

With valued members coming from Wroxton, Hornton, Horley, Ettington and the Pillertons as well as our foundation villages we now have between 30 and 40 singers each week.

During the last 12 months we have raised money for ourselves and two charities, Parkinsons UK and Shipston Home Nursing. We’ve done this by running a full concert last summer, a Christmas Fair, and by singing at a Wedding.

In addition we have sung at various events in Tysoe and around, including the VE80 celebrations last May and the Tysoe Holly Tree Fair this December just gone.

We enjoy a couple of social events each year where our members get together to eat and sing – always a very popular event.

We have tackled some challenging music this year as we have improved in quality and we are planning to run a “Come and Sing” event in early September – a half day workshop where members and non-members can come together to learn some new music and enjoy the wonderful ambience and camaraderie of CCOTS.
